I run a GNU/Linux Beginners SIG under the auspices of two local clubs - WNYComSoc(.org) and WNYLUG(.org), the SIG and former of which meet in that same building where WBFO is located, Allen Hall on the university's South Campus. It's also just about a mile from my house.

Let's say you do the Free Music thing and tour. The idea is to run a promotion or contest or ??? and let a local act open for you with one or more covers of your stuff as well as some of their own. You choose who will open based on the quality of the covers and their own stuff.
